The opening ceremony (thyranoixia) of the renovated historical Church of the Transfiguration in Sisli was celebrated on 22 October 2017 by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

We presented one of the greatest projects in the Greek Orthodox Community of Stavrodromi, which took many years to complete, while only in the last year the works included the renovation of the Church, radical refurbishing of areas, cleaning of religious monuments and maintenance work on the sculptures and ecclesiastic art by trained staff.

The last phase of the project, which cost 800,000 TRY, was fully paid through the budget of the Greek Orthodox Community of Stavrodromi.
