With great joy, on Monday, May 18, 2026, the Grand Community of Stavrodromi welcomed the graduating students of the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The students are visiting Constantinople as part of their school’s annual pilgrimage and educational visit to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, as well as to the monuments and institutions of the Greek Orthodox Community of the City and Imbros.
On the first day of their visit, the students were welcomed and given a tour of the Holy Church of the Holy Trinity on behalf of the Community of Stavrodromi by Fr. Gedeon Varytimos and Ms. Evridiki Piggou, member of the Board of Trustees.
The students and their accompanying clergy, Archimandrite Bartholomew Mercado, presiding priest of the Holy Cross School Chapel, as well as Archdeacon of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and Director of the Office of the Archbishop of America, Dionysios Papiris, learned about the history of the Community and admired the architecture of the church.
Afterwards, they shared a meal at the Soup Kitchen of the Holy Trinity, where they became acquainted with one of the historic institutions of the Greek Orthodox Community, which supports Greek community education in the Stavrodromi district.
As part of this educational journey, in addition to Constantinople, the students will also visit Prinkipo, Nicaea, Imbros, and Thessaloniki.
