With deep emotion and satisfaction, we announce that on August 4th, 2025, the metal Cross was reinstalled on the dome of the Holy Trinity Church in Pera, marking the completion of the restoration works.
It was with great sorrow that we discovered, on the morning of May 5th, 2025, the fall of the historic Cross. The image of the dome without the Cross caused grief within our community, as it is an emblematic symbol of faith and of the centuries-long presence of Hellenism in the City.
Restoration works began immediately, on May 22nd, 2025, and the Cross was fully restored within approximately two and a half months, thanks to the swift response of the responsible authorities and the workers of the Stavrodromi Community.
Thus, everyone can once again see the dome crowned with the Cross of the Holy Trinity Church, a living testament to the enduring presence of the Romiosyni in the most central and historic part of Pera.
